We’re all toasted after spending an hour at Monkey’s K-6 Easter Disco (“It’s really groovy, mama!”), and then being up half the night with a sick cat. As I wouldn’t let Monkey wear her beautiful spidery silk dull bronze sequin-detailed party frock, she wore a tiered Fred Bare in shades of pink and her sparkly gold dress-up shrug. “I’m going to dazzle them with my dancing skills,” she assured me on the way up. Alex and I followed her through the crowd all night, her handmaidens. Her very tired handmaidens.
